Once you have used MixChecker Pro successfully in its basic mode, you may start utilizing more advanced features. But the simulations are much more realistic and there is less latency. If you close the Edit pane and if you use one Button set, the Pro version control is almost the same as of the original MixChecker. When upgraded from MixChecker to MixChecker Pro MixChecker Pro offers all functions of MixChecker except of compensations. Software Installation Software Uninstallation iLok Protection Gave you an upvote for a well thought out discussion. Thanks for using AUDIFIED MixChecker Pro. 24 years on, and I’m still learning everyday. This art form takes years to learn fully. If you can’t get a good mix on stock plugins, then you can’t get a good mix on premium plugins. It has become, “I need this plugin to make my mixes better.” No they actually need to learn the plugins they have, and learn the art of mixing. So many people want to just do it as easy as possible. I do agree with almost all of your comments though. I use just as many bad mixes as good mixes. I don’t try to make my songs sound like others. I don’t use it to make decisions like eqing or compression. It’s also a good way to train your ears for what a commercial mix sounds like on your system. I tend to balance my guitars too high in the mix, because I’m a guitar player, a reference reigns that in. It just helps little things like hearing my bass or guitar is louder in my mix than a typical mix from my genre. I definitely do not try to copy the sound. It resets my ears, and helps me hear little things I may have missed. I use it to adjust my ears, break out of listening to the same mix over and over on repeat. I use references a lot different than you have the impression most people use them for.
